Design Academy Eindhoven is looking for an Instructor Workshops, Digital Workshop, 8 hours/week

 

 

 

 

About the team

You will be working independently in the Digital Workshop team. You will form a team with your colleagues, and together you will support and guide students in the realisation of their projects through various media. This will include basic software explanations, the printing of smaller and large format prints, vinyl cutting and other means of reproduction. You provide students with photo/video and audio equipment and help them by explaining the setup so they can realise their goal.

 

What will you be doing

As our Workshop Instructor you will be responsible for the guidance of students in their design assignments, the supervision and management of the workshop. You seek to harmonise and connect with the lecturers, your workshop colleagues, and associated companies. To ensure the continued quality of the facilities on offer, you will take initiatives to improve them through submitting proposals to the Workshop Team Coordinator. Proposals for improvements will be in the areas of user friendliness, introducing new finishing materials, technical feasibility, cost efficiencies, working conditions, health and safety, and environmental impact.

 

You will require a broad knowledge on related techniques, and provide insights into the correlation between your own working field and related fabrication and prototyping processes. You will develop instruction material and compile introductions on the technical background of working with the resources, facilities, materials, machines and equipment in the workshop.

 

What you will bring to the team

  • Higher vocational education intellectual and professional level, and/or relevant qualifications;
  • In-house emergency basic certificate;
  • Experience in higher vocational education and working with people from various backgrounds is an advantage;
  • Pedagogical and professional didactic knowledge and skills;
  • Technical and technological insights into the possibilities, solutions and deployment of means, machines, equipment, and materials;
  • You have demonstrable knowledge of software for various creative 2D programs such as Adobe Photoshop & Illustrator (and similar).
  • You possess sufficient knowledge of hardware for operation, explanation, minor service-related actions and maintenance regarding the printer park and related equipment.
  • You have an affinity and broad knowledge of audio, video and photography equipment for loaning out, explaining its use, inspection upon return and checking of this equipment.
  • A practical attitude; you help to ensure the continuity of the workshop.
  • An independent, proactive and flexible attitude, with flexibility about working evenings;
  • A communicative and customer-friendly attitude;
  • Knowledge and skills to plan and organise work processes and develop instructional material;
  • Proficiency in both spoken and written Dutch and English.

 

Our offer

We offer you an exciting position in an international and dynamic working environment. It is a part-time position of 8 hours per week, spread over multiple days, provisionally for the duration of a year. Salary indication is in the range between € 2.757,- and € 3.691,- per month for full time employment (scale 8). The employment terms are in accordance with the collective labour agreement CAO-HBO, including a holiday allowance of 8% and a year-end bonus of 8.3%.
